The story behind Alcenia’s.
Alcenia’s was born out of personal tragedy and a desire to heal. After the untimely death of her only son, Will “GoGo” Tamayo III, in a motorcycle accident, B.J. opened the restaurant as a tribute to her mother, Alcenia Clark-Chester, and as a means to cope with her grief. Despite having no prior culinary experience, B.J. relied on her mother’s guidance and recipes to create a menu that resonates with comfort and love.
