Chris Simms, son of renowned restaurateur Tom Simms (founder of Mimi’s Cafe), envisioned Lazy Dog as a place where families and friends could gather in a relaxed setting. Originally intended to be named “Rocky Mountain Cafe,” the name was changed to “Lazy Dog” to evoke a more playful and family-friendly image. The restaurant’s design features dog-themed decor and paw-printed seats, creating a welcoming environment for both children and adults.
